UPDATE: Sunday search planned for missing 10-year-old

Law enforcement agencies in Iowa are seeking Xavior Harrelson, 10, who was last seen Thursday, May 27 in Montezuma, Iowa.

MONTEZUMA, Iowa – The search for 10-year-old Xavior Harrelson will continue Saturday, May 29 and will be conducted by law enforcement and first responders only, but the public is asked to assist in the search Sunday, May 30 if needed.

Law enforcement officials said that those able to assist should gather at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Montezuma High School north parking lot at 504 N. Fourth St. in Montezuma.

Volunteers are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather and for walking outside. Those wishing to assist with the search must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid photo identification and be in good physical condition.

Montezuma residents are encouraged to check their own properties and surveillance systems. Xavior was reported missing on the afternoon of Thursday, May 27 and was possibly wearing blue pajama bottoms, a red T-shirt and black tennis shoes.

Anyone with information related to Xavior’s disappearance should call the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s office at 641-623-2107.
