Urbandale man allegedly beats wife suspected of cheating

Thomas Jason Moreland, 41, of Urbandale was arrested Saturday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness.

An Urbandale man was arrested late Saturday after allegedly punching his wife and threatening to kill her on suspicion of infidelity.

Thomas Jason Moreland, 41, of 15602 Wilden Dr., Urbandale, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness.

Officers with the Urbandale Police Department Saturday responded about 11 p.m. Saturday on a report of a domestic disturbance in the 15600 block of Wilden Drive.

The female victim, “who was actively bleeding from the nose,” said Moreland “came home intoxicated and accused her of cheating.”

According to court records, Moreland allegedly “grabbed the victim and thew her up against the wall” and then “threw her on the bed, got on top of her, hit her in the face with his fist and put his forearm in her throat and said, ‘I’m going to kill you.'”

The victim was eventually able to get away and call 911.

Officers observed that the victim “had a bloody nose, a deep bruise/ red mark on her left cheek near her nose and her teeth hurt.”

Moreland was held in the Dallas County Jail before posting bond. He is scheduled to appear in Dallas County District Court.
