An Urbandale man was arrested on a warrant Wednesday in connection with a February incident in which he allegedly pushed his wife down the basement stairs.
Michael James Ball, 55, of 15404 Ridgemont Dr., Urbandale, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Feb. 7 in the 15400 block of Ridgemont Drive in Urbandale, where Ball and the female victim “were involved in a physical altercation,” according to court records.
The victim told officers of the Urbandale Police Department that she was standing “at the top of the stairs to the basement,” and Ball allegedly “pushed her in the chest, causing her to fall down the stairs,” according to court records.
Ball “denied pushing the victim down the stairs” and said “he put his hand out to stop the basement door from closing, and the victim lost her footing or tripped and fell down the stairs,” according to court records.
The victim “was seen at a doctors office for the pain she was experiencing” in “her buttocks, arms and legs from being pushed down the stairs,” according to court records.
Ball is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
