USPS motorist swerves, overturns vehicle to avoid deer Saturday

A motorist swerved to avoid hitting a deer and overturned her vehicle in the ditch on 315th Street in Boone County Saturday morning. There were no injuries.

A rural mail delivery person with the U.S. Postal Service swerved to avoid a deer, entered the ditch and rolled her vehicle Saturday morning in the 1400 block of 315th St. in Boone County northeast of Woodward.

There were no injuries in the mishap, according to a Boone County Deputy Sheriff on scene. The SUV came to rest on its side in the south ditch of 315th Street just west of Owl Avenue.

The one-vehicle incident was reported shortly before 11 a.m.

The Woodward First Responders, Woodward Volunteer Fire Department, Boone County Sheriff’s office and Boone County EMS responded.
