McGrath “admitted to being primary physical aggressor” in the incident, according to court documents. He allegedly placed his father in a “choke hold” and “caused his father to struggle to breath.”

The alleged assault was witnessed by other family members, according to court records. The Waukee Police Department officers who responded found the victim presenting “multiple injuries to body and neck.”

McGrath is held in the Dallas County Jail on $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court Sunday.
