An SUV and a passenger van collided at the intersection of First and Willis avenues about 5:45 p.m. Friday.

An SUV and a passenger van collided at the intersection of First and Willis avenues about 5:45 p.m. Friday, forcing the closure of the southbound lanes of Iowa Highway 144.

Paramedics from the Dallas County EMS are examining the victims at this hour.

The accident is under investigation at this hour by the Perry Police Department.

The SUV sustained front-end damage on the driver’s side, and the van sustained front-end damage on the passenger’s side.

Both vehicles came to rest facing southward in the southbound lanes of First Avenue.

The Perry First Responders and the Perry Volunteer Fire Department also responded.

  1. I was the driver of the van, and my van had damage on the front PASSENGER side and the SUV was front DRIVER SIDE. You have it switched around so in the story it’s wrong.
