A 6 p.m. vehicle fire on Iowa Highway 141 Diagonal just north of V Avenue brought northbound commuter traffic to a standstill Wednesday evening.
There were no injuries reported in the single-vehicle incident.
A Woodward firefighter said the vehicle’s plastic fuel tank ruptured and spilled fuel on the roadway, creating a large blaze that firefighters eventually controlled.
The vehicle was totally destroyed.
The Woodward Volunteer Fire Department and Granger Fire and Rescue responded along with the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS.
