Vehicle hits fence line on Iowa Highway 144 near Berkley Road

A Perry woman was arrested for alleged drunk driving after her SUV rolled and struck barbed wire fencing Tuesday night on Iowa Highway 144 near the Berkley Road.

The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County EMS and Boone County Sheriff’s office responded to a single-vehicle accident in Boone County Tuesday night.

A driver suffered minor injuries Tuesday night when her vehicle became involved in barbed wire fencing along Iowa Highway 144 north of Perry.

The incident occurred about 8:45 p.m. on 325th Street (Iowa Highway 144) just east of Clover Avenue (County Road P54) in Boone County.

The SUV sustained significant front-end driver’s-side damage, including a smashed windshield and crumpled quarter panel.

A length of barbed wire was tangled in the vehicle, which came to rest on the shoulder of the northbound lane of 325th Street.

The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County EMS and Boone County Sheriff’s office responded.
