A power pole on First Avenue in north Perry burned Tuesday afternoon after it was struck by a motor vehicle.
There were no injuries in the mishap, which occurred about 1 p.m. in the 12100 block of J Avenue.
The vehicle came to rest on its side in a field on the west side of J Avenue just north of the city limits of Perry.
The power pole, which stood on the west side of J Avenue just inside the city limits, was sheared off by the impact and caught fire.
The cause of the mishap is under investigation at this hour.
The Perry Police Department, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS responded.
