The members of Nu Alpha Gamma, the Perry chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, recently awarded grant-in-aid checks to two local college students who graduated from high schools in Dallas County and now pursue degrees in education.

Nicole Stuhldryer, Perry Community High School graduate and a senior at Simpson College in Indianola, and Paige Nieland, Woodward-Granger High School grad and now an Iowa State University senior, are both pursuing degrees in elementary education.

Nieland received the award for the second time from the group of Dallas County educators honored for their service to future laborers in the profession.

JoAnn Harmelink of Perry said the members of Nu Alpha Gamma “are happy to be sharing $400 with each of these two future educators for use in their quest for their teaching degrees.”

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes the professional and personal growth of female educators and general excellence in education. The professional sorority formed in 1929.
