Freedom For Youth Ministries, 1210 Second Street in Perry, hosted a free grill-out Friday, with additional entertainment thrown into the mix as well.

The “Kids Against Violence” dance troupe from Des Moines performed several energetic and fun routines in the public parking area on the 1200 block of Third Street, with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department bringing along one their trucks for youngsters to look at.

Hot dogs, bratwursts and hamburgers were on the menu inside the building, with chips and water — a popular item after dancing up a storm in the heat — provided.

The Freedom For Youth center has a fooseball (table soccer) table, air hockey table and ping pong table available for use, and all were in use during the 90-minute event.

You can learn more about the ministry on their Facebook page (Freedom For Youth), by stopping by the local center or contacting them at 515-282-4822.
