Work on the west side of the intersection of First and Willis Avenue is well underway, with crews hoping dry, sunny weather continues to grace Perry.

Those who work construction know very well the idea of a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. workday is out of the question.

With dry weather and sunny skies, the past few days have seen local crews starting early and working well past what is traditionally considered “quitting time” while often staying on the job for at least another hour or two, as the attached videos depict.

So 9 to 5 are working hours? Try telling that to the crews busily reconstructing intersections and building new apartment complexes in Perry or, for that matter, to a sportswriter.
