VIDEO: W-G girls host 2A Regional Tournament

W-G's Cierra DeHoet hits a fairway wood on the fifth hole at the Woodward Golf Club during Monday's Class 2A Sectional.

WOODWARD — The 3A Regional in Class 2A was held at the Woodward Golf Club Monday, with the top three teams and top five individuals joining their counterparts from the 3B Regional in Wapello in moving on to Sectional play at Oskaloosa.

Advancing from Woodward are Pleasantville (382), Ogden (387) and Panorama (436), with Van Meter’s Molly Carey earning an individual spot by placing third overall with a round of 92.

Ogden’s Hannah Carter was first overall with an 84, with Pleasantville’s Hannah Gordon shooting an 85. Carey and Plesantville’s Bailey Oliva and Avari Heinz-Pence claimed the remaining three spots with identical rounds of 92.

South Hamilton was fourth in the team standings with a 443, with Van Meter shooting 464, Woodward-Granger 466, Central Decatur 494 and Des Moines Christian 511.

Paige Mescher led the host Hawks with a 115. Cierre DeHoet had a 116, Hannah Nelson a 117 and Karley Jacobus a 118 to cap the W-G scoring. Kayla Crouse (122) and Aubrey Mescher (137) also played, but did not have their scores tabulated.

Emma Jahner’s 113 was the fourth score for Pleasantville, with Maranda Wheelock (96), Kylie Nichols (99) and Christina Vinchattle (108) joining Carter in scoring for Ogden.

Panorama earned the third spot with four closely-grouped scores, as Emily Houston carded a 104, Cassie Labath and Christin Kock a pair of 108’s and Adrienne Powell a 116.

Jenna Woodall (107), Marla Grubb (108), Katelyn Sogard (114) and Jasmine Hyland (114) scored for South Hamilton and Carey (92), Lizzy Lyon (113), Bekah Walter (128) and Erica Scieszinski (131) for Van Meter while Lily Simon (100), Brooke Vecchio (129), Abby Ridgway (131) and Raegan Boothe (134) were the low four for Central Decatur.

DMC counted the scores of Caroline Dunn (123), Katie Krehlik (124), Antonia Miller (131) and Jessie Reimenschnieder.

Two players from Madrid also played in the tourney, with Sydney Weise shooting a 124 and Alexa Jagerson a 132.
