Virtual ¡Viva Perry! Latino Festival planned for September 19

Banners at the 2017 Latino Festival read, "Immigrants Make America Great," and "No Human Being is Illegal," and the truths are no less true in 2020.

The ¡Viva Perry! Latino Festival has brought its annual abundance of food and fellowship to downtown Perry Saturday for some 25 years, but the SARS-CoV-19 2 global pandemic has disrupted this year’s event.

The face-to-face street festival is cancelled, but a virtual festival will be hosted on the Hispanics United for Perry (HUP) Facebook page and the  the Perry Public Library Facebook page Saturday, Sept. 19.

Online attractions will include a greeting, interviews, cooking demonstrations, games, immigrant stories, dancers, special recognitions and scholarship presentations, a history of HUP and many more virtual activities.

Join the virtual celebration of our diverse community in 2020, while we honor our Hispanic heritage in a safe way.
