Virus infection rate in PCSD slows in April

The rate of positive tests for SARS-CoV-2, the virus causes COVID-19, has slowed in the Perry Community School District in April. Four students have tested positive since March 26, according to PCSD Superintendent Clark Wicks.

One Perry Elementary School student tested positive for COVID-19 on March 26, and a second on April 6. Six students in total were quarantined.

A Perry High School student tested positive April 19, with 19 students quarantined, and a Perry Middle School student tested positive April 20, with 13 students quarantined.

At present, the Perry Community School District has a total of three positive cases, Wicks said. All other students can attend classes as normal.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus has infected 62 students and 19 staff members since classes began Aug. 19 in the PCSD, according to communications from the PCSD. The list of cases follows.
