Visits will resume at the Perry Lutheran Homes campuses March 1.

After nearly a year of lockdown at Perry’s nursing homes, the Perry Lutheran Homes announced Thursday that in-person visits will be permitted beginning March 1 for all residents at the King’s Gardens Campus on Willis Avenue and the Eden Acres Campus on 28th Street.

Visitations will be permitted as long as the Dallas County COVID-19 positivity rate stays below 10%. Dallas County currently has a seven-day positivity rate of 7.5%, with 130 positive cases in the county as of Feb. 25.

Visitor restrictions at the Dallas County Hospital and Perry’s long-term care facilities were first imposed March 11, 2020, and were updated March 14, 2020, in an effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

“With the vaccination of residents and staff, we are still anxiously awaiting revised visitation guidelines from local and national health agencies,” Melissa Gannon, COO and administrator of the Perry Lutheran Homes said Thursday. “What a long journey these past 12 months have been for us all. We are so grateful for your continued support, prayers, patience and grace. And we are beyond excited to see you in person again at Perry Lutheran Homes Eden Acres Campus and King’s Gardens Campus! God is good!”

Gannon said that until revised visitation guidelines are issued, all resident visitors will be asked to abide by the same protocols previously in place:

  • All visits must be scheduled in advance.
  • Visitors will be screened prior to each visit.
  • Visits will be in designated places to ensure sanitation before and after each visit.
  • Visitors must wear a mask and practice social distancing staying at least 6 feet apart.
  • Residents are able to have 2 or less visitors per visit and up to 5 visits per week as scheduling and staffing allows.
  • If a resident is in quarantine, in-person visits can only be scheduled once they are no longer in quarantine, except in end-of-life circumstances.

Visitors may schedule appointments by using the following contact information:
