W-G boys run at Ballard Thursday

HUXLEY — The Woodward-Granger boys track team competed Thursday in the Bill Estrem Relays, finishing with 41 points.

Madrid won the meet with 169 points, with Gilbert second at 153. Ballard (128) was third, with Saydel (48) fourth and W-G (41) fifth while a few members of Boone’s team also competed, scoring four points.

Ian Thompson was fourth in the 800 in 2 minutes, 14.76 seconds, with Chandler Cavanaugh sixth in the 100 dash in 11.69 clicks while Brendan Bird finished third in the discus with a spin of 115 feet, 5 inches.

The Hawks won the 1600 medley relay in 3:51.58 and were second in the 4×800 in 8:50.52. W-G was third in the 4×400 (3:49.44), fourth in the shuttle hurdle (1:13.98) and fifth in the 4×100 (52.14). Names of those running in the relays were not provided.

Both W-G squads competed in the WCC meet at Guthrie Center Tuesday. Unfortunately, results provided to ThePerryNews.com were incomplete and could not be reported.
