W-G Elementary School’s Brummond sundaed with cherry on top

“Our wonderful kiddos did it again!” said Jackie Frost, co-president of the Woodward-Granger Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, announcing a total of $40,000 raised to support the Woodward-Granger Early Learning Center and Elementary School.

The youngsters collected pledges from Aug. 30 to Sept. 13 and earned their donations Friday with a Fun Run on a course lined with fun stations along, all in an effort to promote wellness and healthy lifestyle choices.

Friday’s Fun Run festivities were topped when Woodward-Granger Elementary School Principal Matt Brummond was turned into a living ice cream sundae, complete with a cherry on top. Other activities included blow-up rides, clowns, face painting and karaoke.

Recognition was given to the top six fundraisers:

1. Drake
2. Demi
3. Kellen
4. Ava
5. Ainsley
6. Abby and Mallory – tied for 6th

Top Early Learning Center fundraising class: Miss Van Houten at $1,832

Top Elementary School fundraising class: Miss Carlson at $2,726

The fundraising fun continues this week with a Subway lunch Monday at the early learning center, Kona Ice on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at the ELC and the elementary school and a Subway lunch Wednesday at the elementary school.

“We can’t say thank you enough to our amazing families, community and corporate sponsors,” Frost said.
