DES MOINES — The Woodward-Granger girls track team was in action in one event Thursday at the State Track Meet.

Seniors Anna Tague and Josie Noland, junior Emma Drake and sophomore Ava Petersen ran on the blue oval of Drake Stadium in the first of two heats in the 4×800 relay. It is the third consecutive season for the Hawks to compete in the event at the state meet, with Tague and Drake running on all three squads.

The Hawks entered the event seeded 21st and with a qualifying time of 10 minutes, 15.36 seconds. The quartet finished in 10:58.92.

Drake will return to action Saturday when she competes in the 800. She is the 14th seed at 2:27.11. Drake was 11th in the 800, in 2:25.13, two years ago as a freshman.
