W-G netters participate in ADM tourney

ADEL — The Woodward-Granger volleyball team dropped all five of their matches Thursday in their annual trip to the ADM Tournament.

W-G fell to ADM (21-19, 21-9), Atlantic (21-18, 21-8), and Norwalk (21-6, 21-14) before falling in three games to Nevada. The Hawk dropped the first game, 21-18, won game two, 21-12, but then fell, 15-8, in the deciding game. A 21-15, 21-18 loss to Gilbert capped the evening.

Statistics were available for the Hawks only from their first three matches.

Jada Tague and Lindsey Mescher had five kills apiece in those contests, with Darby Nixon, Grace Deputy, and Ashley Gerken notching three kills apiece, while Brayten Ashman and Samantha Volz each had two kills.

Volz provided nine assists and Audrey Simmons seven, with Nixon having three assists and Ashman two.

Nixon’s 36 digs were a team-best, with Ashman having 15 digs and Volz 13. Simmons had nine digs and Tague eight, with Mescher credited with three digs, Gerken and Deputy two each and Bella McDivitt one.

Volz served 21-of-21 with two aces while Tague had two aces on 12-of-14 serving. Simmons was 12-14-1 behind line, with Nixon 9-11-1, Deputy 6-11-1, Ashman 8-of-9 and Gerken 0-for-1.
