WOODWARD — Senior guard Bryce Achenbach of Woodward-Granger is one of just 27 players to be named to the Academic All-State team by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.
A panel of IBCA members reviewed a total of 85 possible choices before settling on the final list.
The chosen members have an average GPA of 3.8 with 14 players ranked either first or second in their graduating class. Honorees have a 14.4 points per game scoring average.
Achenbach has scored 370 points (16.8 ppg) through 22 games. He has converted on 17-of-58 3-pointers (29.3 percent) and has 100 rebounds (4.5 per game). Achenbach has distributed 117 assists (5.3 apg), made 56 steals and has been guilty of only 39 turnovers, less than two per game.
