W-G volleyball rises to latest challenges

MADRID — Woodward-Granger lifted their volleyball record to 15-9 overall and 7-1 in WCAC action with a 3-0 sweep of host Madrid Tuesday. The victory follows a 3-1 home win over Ogden September 25.

Tuesday’s win over the Tigers came behind scores of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-10, while the prior victory over the Bulldogs was the result of 25-17, 20-25, 25-16 and 25-15 finals.

The contest against Ogden served as Senior Night for W-G. Briley Bermel, Megan Burkhart, Mya Kasiar, Lisa Pitman, Alissa Smeltzer, Ashlyn Soelberg and Anna Tague were all saluted before the match.

Individual player statistics have not been made available for the Hawks, limiting the information which can be reported.

W-G visits Panorama Tuesday and Van Meter October 11. The Hawks will host the Norm McCune Invitational October 13 to conclude their regular season.
