W-G wrestlers sweep foes during Senior Night

WOODWARD — Six senior wrestlers were honored Tuesday and host Woodward-Granger added to the happy emotions with three wins in a quadrangular.

W-G topped AC/GC, 42-34, and South Central Calhoun, 45-30, while waltzing past Baxter, 77-6. SCC edged AC/GC, 43-42, while blanking Baxter, 72-0, with AC/GC scoring a 65-6 win over Baxter in the other duals.

The Bolts defended just five weights against the Hawks, surrendering 54 points on nine forfeits. The hosts received wins by pin from Dilynn Lewiston at 126 pounds, from Dustin Harney at 138 and from Kade Polich at 182, with Gabe Yingst winning by a technical fall (16-0) at 160 pounds.

Seniors Lewiston, Yingst and Colt Palmer (132), along with junior varsity matmen Jacob Kepford (120), Jimmy Guzzi (145) and MIles Owen (285) were saluted for their dedication and contributions to the program.

Polich finished 3-0 Tuesday with a trio of pins, with Yingst 3-0 on two pins and a tech fall while Cale Pritchett went 3-0 at 170 with a pin and two forfeits. Also 3-0 were Cody Fisher (220) and Tyler Lawrenson (285) with the former scoring two pins and a forfeit while the latter had a win by decision and two forfeits.

Jon McKeever was 2-1 at 152 with a pin and a forfeit while Joel Harney, Aidan Honkomp and Palmer all 2-1, at 106, 113 and 132 respectively, with the trio all receiving a pair of forfeits.

Lewiston, Dustin Harney and Jayden Dorenkamp (145) each won once, with all three doing so by fall, with Matthew White (120) and Nathaniel Rosen (195) both collecting a single win via forfeit.
