walking school bus logoThe Walking School Bus marched from the Perry High School bell right on time Friday morning, fearlessly led by Misty Von Behren from the Perry Public Library.

Now in its third year, the Walking School Bus is a program of the Dallas County Public Health Department and the Perry Community School District. The bus runs — or rather walks — every Friday during the school year.

Children gather at Perry High School at 7:15 a.m. and leaves for Perry Elementary School at 7:30 a.m., safely shepherded by adult volunteers.

Volunteer walkers and weekly business sponsors are always needed. For more information, call Misty at 515-465-3569.
