Giving is the great blessing for the volunteers and donors in the Toys for Tots program, but they also receive blessings in turn in the form of cards and letters from parents who are grateful that their children could share the joy of Christmas.
John and Linda Andorf of Perry, organizers of the annual Toys for Tots campaign, shared with ThePerryNews.com some of the touching messages sent to the program by thankful parents with full hearts.
Perry-area donations reached a new high this year, with private donors giving about $725 and the local grocery store round-ups netting $834 at the Perry Hy-Vee and $950 at the Perry Fareway.
“The community made it the best ever,” said John Andorf. “We are looking forward to doing it all again next year.”
