Ninety-eight-year-old Earl Daniels, left, and his baby brother, Paul Daniels, 92, enjoyed pork loins prepared by the Iowa Pork Producers Association at the Washington Township School fundraiser Friday. Their sisters, Wilma Waters, 97, and Alberta Smith, 86, also live in Perry.

The Washington Township Consolidated School Foundation (WTCSF) hosted its annual pork loin dinner Friday evening, with loins enough to feed the expected 125 diners.

This year’s pork supply was prepared by the Iowa Pork Producers Association, according to WTCSF advisory board member Tom Bice.

Assisting in the task of service were WTCS alumnae Susan Andrews, Lin Eide, Barb Fox, Jon West and Barry Halling.

Among the early-bird diners were Earl Daniels, 98, and his baby brother, Paul Daniels, 92, both of Perry. Their sisters, Wilma Waters, 97, and Alberta Smith, 86, also of Perry, were unable to attend this year’s dinner.

WTCSF treasurer Carolyn Snyder said proceeds from the fundraiser support ongoing restoration and maintenance efforts at the 97-year-old schoolhouse.
