Adrianna Jean Williams, 27, of 258 N.W. Lexington Dr., Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.

The incident began May 30 about 9 p.m. in the 200 block of N.W. Lexington Drive in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with Williams, who said that she and Vanzuuk “were arguing” and that Vanzuuk allegedly “became aggressive and came towards her” after she “grabbed a house plant and started tearing it apart,” according to court records.

Williams said that Vanzuuk allegedly “knocked her against a wall and put his hand around her neck” and that he later “punched” her “in the face” while she was holding the baby, according to court records.

The officers observed on Williams “a small, fresh, red mark on the left side of her neck” and “a pinpoint bruise on her neck next to the red mark,” according to court records. The officers also observed “a fat lip on the left side of her lip.”

The officers made contact with Vanzuuk, who said that when Williams allegedly began to damage property inside the residence, he attempted to prevent further damage “by grabbing her shoulders,” and he then “bear hugged” Williams, according to court records.

Vanzuuk told the officers that when he said to Williams, “You’re going to leave. You’re not going to break my stuff,” Williams allegedly “punched him in his groin,” according to court records.

Vanzuuk told the officers that he “assumed” that Williams “was going to break or destroy his computer” in the bedroom, so he “closed the door and stood in front of it,” according to court records. He said that Williams then “pushed her way into the bedroom, attempting to kick and punch him multiple times.”

Vanzuuk told the officers that “he thought he had hit her in the jaw somewhere” and that when Williams “fell to the ground,” he “picked up” the baby “and walked away,” according to court records.

The officers observed on Vanzuuk “several bruises on his right forearm” and “two fresh bruises on the inside of his right forearm” that were “multi-colored, containing black, blue and red,” according to court records.

Vanzuuk was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 30 in Dallas County District Court.
