A Waukee man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend early Thursday in reaction to seeing pictures on her cell phone that displeased him.
Diego Fernando Quito-Barrezueta, 36, of 768 Ashby Dr., Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.
The female victim told officers of the Waukee Police Department that the incident began about 12:15 a.m. in the 700 block of Ashby Drive in Waukee, where Quito-Barrezueta allegedly “grabbed her arm in an attempt to pull her out of bed” after “he saw images on her phone that he didn’t like,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Quito-Barrezueta “also slapped her legs,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “a bruising on the upper inside of her arm” and “a red mark of approximately 8 inches on her upper thigh.”
Quito-Barrezueta was held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
