A Waukee man was arrested Monday after allegedly strangling a pregnant Waukee woman in the home.
Aranvir Singh Virk, 28, of 200 N.W. Second St., Waukee, was charged with -impeding flow of air/blood.
The incident began about 7:30 p.m. Monday at a residence in the 200 block of N.W. Second Street, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the pregnant victim, who told the officers that Virk allegedly “threw her down on the couch, used both hands to strangle her, smacked her face and pulled her hair,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that Virk “does not want the baby and threatened to kill her,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “cuts on her left wrist, a fat lip and a swollen right side of her face,” according to court records.
Virk is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
