Khalid Jeremiah Crosbie,30, of Waukee was arrested Friday on a charge of second or subsequent offense sex offender registration violation.

A Waukee man was arrested Friday after he was found allegedly living in the same house as two minor children, a violation of the rules of the Sex Offender Registry.

Khalid Jeremiah Crosbie, 30, of 685 S.E. Prairie Park Lane, Waukee, was charged with second or subsequent offense sex offender registration violation.

The incident began Feb. 10 at a residence in Waukee, where a parole officer from the Fifth Judicial District Department of Corrections learned during a home visit that two children, ages 2 and 4, were allegedly residing in the same home as Crosbie, according to court records.

“When Crosbie reported to the Dallas County Sheriff’s office on Jan. 10, 23 and 19, he failed to mention that the two children live in the residence,” according to court records, an omission that violates the rules of the Sex Offender Registry.

A warrant for Crosbie’s arrest was ordered Thursday in Dallas County District Court and served Friday. Crosbie is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Crosbie was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse in 2021 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of first-offense sex offender registration violation in January in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
