A Waukee teenager was arrested Sept. 2 after a search of his Waukee residence allegedly disclosed a variety of controlled substances.

Irving Josephat Lugo-Torres, 19, of 747 Ashby Dr., Waukee, was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance, five counts of controlled substance violation, four counts of failure to affix drug stamp, one count of used or expired drug stamp and violation of probation.

The incident began about 5 p.m. Sept. 2, when a search warrant was executed at Lugo-Torres’ residence by the Polk County Sheriff’s office.

According to court records, the search disclosed “an estimated 200 dosage units of MDMA, 49 grams of marijuana wax, 14.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 77 dosage units of LSD tabs, 152 grams of marijuana and less than 1 gram of cocaine.”

Lugo-Torres is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for arraignment Sept. 25 in Dallas County District Court.

Lugo-Torres was convicted of a controlled substance violation in 2018 and sentenced to three years’ probation. He was arrested in March 2020 and charged with two counts of controlled substance violation, two counts of failure to affix drug stamp and unlawful possession of prescription drug. The case is pending in Dallas County District Court. He was arrested Aug. 25 and charged with public intoxication and fifth-degree theft after he allegedly left an Ankeny nightclub without paying his bar tab and later “vomited on himself while seated in a patrol vehicle” of the Ankeny Police Department, according to court records. The case is pending in Polk County District Court.

  1. He actually was at a bar with a buddy in Ankeny, and some guy started a fight with Irving’s friend, and push came to shove. The police arrived and charged both men with fifth-degree theft (even though they were never given an option to pay). Irving was charged with consumption as well. Reports of the other male were limited because he is a minor.
