The Perry Vocal Music Department revealed its natural beauty Saturday night at the Perry Performing Arts Center, with the annual Jukebox Variety Show entertaining an appreciative audience of about 400 in the Perry Performing Arts Center.
Welcome to the 21st Century was the theme of this year’s event, and the 21 songs ranged from anthems to ballads, with the lineup showcasing a series of sterling solos and strong choral performances by the Treble Clef Choir, Bass Clef Choir and PHS Chorale.
A highlight was the tune “Sucker,” by the Jonas Brothers, performed by Kid’s Camp students in kindergarten through fifth grade along with the PHS Choirs.
The show was closed by the PHS Choirs singing a stirring rendition of Alan Billingsley’s arrangement of “Born this Way” by Lady Gaga.

Many generous audience members made donations in support of the PHS Vocal Music Department. Among the evening’s soloists, sophomores Tony Roe and Molly Moorhead accrued the most donated dollars, all of which go toward the support of the PHS Vocal Music Department, which is headed by Jenn Nelson.
