West Des Moines man allegedly threatens to kill Waukee woman

Maxwell John Morris, 23, of West Des Moines was arrested Tuesday on a charge of first-degree harassment.

A West Des Moines man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Tuesday in connection with Waukee woman he allegedly harassed for about three years.

Maxwell John Morris, 23, of 1519 Buffalo Road, West Des Moines, was charged with first-degree harassment.

According to court records, Morris has been harassing the victim “for a little under three years.”

In March 2020, the victim answered Morris on social media “and asked him to cease communication between the two of them,” according to court records.

Morris allegedly replied, “you gon die bitch,” and his threats of death and bodily injury have escalated since then.

A warrant for Morris’ arrest was ordered Feb. 26 in Dallas County District Court and was served Aug. 17.

Morris is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for arraignment Sept. 9 in Dallas County District Court.
