A West Des Moines teenager was arrested Saturday night after allegedly assaulting his mother in the home.
Karrington Dee Macon-Wilborn, 19, of 6201 E. P. True Parkway, West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and interference with official acts.
The incident began about 8:15 p.m. in the 6200 block of E. P. True Parkway in West Des Moines, where Macon-Wilborn allegedly “did get on top of his mother and attempted to assault her,” according to court records.
Officers of the West Des Moines Police Department made contact with the victim and observed that “the victims nails were broken,” and she was “bleeding from her finger,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with Macon-Wilborn outside the residence. Macon-Wilborn “began walking away” and was ordered to stop, but he “began running away,” according to court records. An officer “brought” him “to the ground and detained him.”
Macon-Wilborn “denied assaulting his mother and advised she was attacking him,” according to court records. He presented with no injuries.
Macon-Wilborn is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 12 in Dallas County District Court.
