West Willis closed Friday morning for power pole removal

A power line was blown down along Willis Avenue between W. Fourth and W. Sixth streets early Friday. An Alliant Energy crew will close the area Willis Avenue for about an hour Friday morning for further repairs.

Willis Avenue is closed Friday morning between W. Fourth and W. Fifth streets in order for Alliant Energy to remove a power pole.

The street will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and about 9:30 a.m.

High winds overnight downed a power line along the busy Perry thoroughfare about 1 a.m. Friday. The Perry Volunteer Fire Department closed the road, and Alliant line crew arrived about 2 a.m. to repair the power line.

Further work Friday morning is expected to take about one hour, according to Perry City Hall.
