Two Wichita sex workers were arrested outside a West Des Moines motel just after midnight Friday when officers of the West Des Moines Police Department found them allegedly in possession of drugs.
Colleen “Coco” Fisher, 26, of 4721 E. Louis St., Wichita, Kansas, was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance.
Joan Adassa Robinson, 30, of 6725 W. Shade Lane, Wichita, Kansas, was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance.
The incident began, according to court records, when West Des Moines Police Department officers “noticed an occupied vehicle in the north parking lot” of the motel at 7265 Vista Drive in West Des Moines.
The officers allegedly “could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from” the 2020 Mini Cooper occupied by Robinson. Fisher was nearby and “proceeded to walk over to the vehicle.”
According to court records, Fisher “knowingly and willingly” admitted that “she had cocaine in her purse and that she was in town to participate in prostitution.”
A search of the vehicle disclosed “marijuana, a white powdery substance resembling cocaine and several multicolored pills that resembled MDMA.” The powder field tested positive for cocaine, and the pills field tested positive for MDMA, according to court records.
Fisher and Robinson were each held in the Dallas County Jail prior to each posting a $1,000 cash or surety bond. Each is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 1 in Dallas County District Court.
