CORALVILLE — Clark Wicks can often be overheard expressing his “Bluejay Pride.”

That devotion was, doubtless, one of many positive factors leading to the Perry school superintendent being honored Sunday by the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association with their Administrator of the Year award. The presentation was made Sunday during the annual IHSADA banquet and awards ceremony.

The award is given “For promoting sportsmanship, ideals, competition and standards through athletics that contribute to the youth of our state.”

“There are a lot of deserving people out there, so it is very humbling to be chosen,” Wicks said in November, when the honor was first announced. “I work with a great group of administrators, faculty and coaches, which makes it great to be a Bluejay!”
