Funeral services for William “Bill” Simmer, 82, of Perry, longtime city of Perry employee, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Bill will be Monday, Oct. 28 after 1 p.m., with his family present from 5-7 p.m.
Bill died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Bill is survived by his wife, Velma; son, Scott (Barbara) Simmer of Smithville, Mo.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris Fessler of Perry and Donna Kadolph of Perry.
Memorials in Bill’s name may be left at Hastings Funeral Home and will be later distributed by his family.
