Alert workers at the Casey’s store on east Willis Avenue in Perry saw and reported a fire in a house across the street shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday.

No injuries were reported in the fire at 2622 Willis Ave.

After determining that no one was inside the house, the Casey’s workers said they called 911, and the Perry Police Department responded and paged the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire appeared to have gutted the interior of the 122-year old house, owned by Ronald B. Thielen of Perry, according to county records.

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded and controlled the blaze before it fully engulfed the structure.

The Perry First Responders and Dallas County EMS also responded.
