Winter weather advisory from midnight to 6 p.m. Wednesday

The National Weather Service (NWS) office is Des Moines has issued a winter weather advisory for the Perry area from midnight until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Forecasts call for mixed precipitation, with snow accumulations of one to three inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.

The light snow and wintry mix will bring snow-covered or slushy roads that could make travel hazardous and might impact Wednesday’s morning and evening commutes.

Along with Dallas County, the winter weather advisory comprises the counties of Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Grundy, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Story, Audubon, Guthrie, Cass, Adair, Madison, Adams, Union, Taylor and Ringgold,
