Winter weather advisory set from 9 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday

The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a winter weather advisory for the Perry area from 9 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday.

The forecast calls for mixed precipitation across central Iowa, with total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches and minor ice accumulations expected. Some blowing snow is possible as wind gusts in excess of 35 mph are expected.

Slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities are predicted. Travelers are advised to use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for Iowa can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Dallas County cities affected by the wind advisory include Adel, Booneville, Bouton, Dallas Center, Dawson, De Soto, Dexter, Granger, Linden, Minburn, Perry, Redfield, Van Meter, Waukee and Woodward.
