Visiting Winterset kept their stay in Perry as brief as possible Tuesday by rolling to a 3-0 win in Raccoon River Conference volleyball.

The Huskies (11-9, 4-1) won behind scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-10. The Jayettes fell to 9-12, 0-6 with the loss, in which the team recorded only four kills in the match.

Kacy Nevitt had two kills and Jayna Kenney and Ashley Cerna one each, but that was it, with Taylor Atwell providing three assists and Mary Ann Riesberg one.

Nevitt, Jasmine Shriver and Ashley Cerna each had a block at the net, with Magley Orellana making a team-high 10 digs. Riesberg had five digs and Jenisis Cerna four, with Ashley Cerna and Atwell adding two digs apiece with Jasmin Olmos and Deborah Mateso had one dig each.

Perry served at a high clip, finishing 23-of-25 with two aces, but 25 serves in three sets is hardly enough to fuel any chance of victory, and the Huskies slowly slipped away in each game.

Kenney and Shriver was both 4-of-4 with an ace, with Riesberg 7-of-7 and Atwell 4-of-4. Orellana, Olmos and Lainie Fish were each 1-of-1 behind the line, with Nevitt 1-of-3.

Perry was playing without junior setter Quinn Whiton, who will miss the rest of the season as well as all of the upcoming basketball season with a knee injury that will require surgery. She hopes to return to action later in the track season.

Perry will host Saydel, Des Moines Hoover, Ballard and Roland-Story Thursday for the Jayette Invite. All matches will be played in the varsity gym, with action beginning at 4:30 p.m.
