A 14-year-old male who escaped from the campus of the Woodward Academy about 3 a.m. Wednesday was located shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday and returned to the campus, which is housed on the ground of the Woodward Resource Center.
The youth was found near W. Second Street and Elm Avenue in Woodward and taken into custody without incident.
Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs, officers of the Woodward Police Department and members of the Woodward Volunteer Fire Department participated in the search for the runaway.
Neither Sequel Youth Services, the for-profit company that operates the Woodward Academy, nor local law enforcement agencies alert the public as a matter of public safety on the occasions of flights from the campus.
