Woodward brothers Wesson Bridge, 7, and Barrett Bridge, 9, took advantage of the mild temperatures Sunday afternoon to play some one-on-one basketball at the city park under the watchful eye of their babysitter, Janice Albrecht.

At length the fraternal competition attracted a cheering section from the Woodward Academy, as described on Facebook by John D. Ruhland.

“They cheered for every shot whether the kids made it or not,” Ruhland said. “The teens shouted encouragement and positive comments. The two local kids were under a constant barrage of positivity. They made those two little boys feel like professionals.”

Ruhland praised the Academy youth for their contribution to the Woodward community.

“Teens encouraging positive behavior from younger kids is what being a good citizen is all about,” Ruhland said. “Well done, Knights! You make our community a better place to live in.”

Wesson and Barrett are the sons of Ellie Altman of Woodward.
