Woodward-Granger will wear a "58" decal on their helmets this year in memory of Drew Jacobson, who would have been a senior this season.

LAST YEAR — W-G escaped with a narrow 31-28 win fueled by kick and interception return touchdowns from senior Dylan Garland. The Hawks scored twice through the air while totaling 122 passing yards, with the Hawks held to 104 rushing yards on 29 carries.
Tanner Vermaas (5-81, 1 TD) led the ground attack, with Race Brant carrying three times for 20 yards and catching three passes for 39 yards.
South Hamilton ran 39 times for 258 yards, but only Collin Hill (1-4) is back from that onslaught. The visiting Hawks scored twice on the ground and twice in the air while passing for 118 yards.

ABOUT THE SH HAWKS — South Hamilton had their week one game with Roland-Story cancelled. The have suffered losses of 15-12 against West Marshall and of 48-0 to Madrid, with road losses of 42-7 at Manson-NW Webster and 52-0 at Ogden in their two latest games.
Requests for statistical information and starters were not returned, limiting the availability of information on the team.
Reports from the West Marshall and Madrid games reveal quarterback Blake Barquist is 7-of-26 for 57 yards and has been intercepted four times while Logan Klemp had 152 ground yards on 43 carries. The team ran for 254 yards on 86 carries in the aforementioned games.

ABOUT THE W-G HAWKS — W-G defeated M-SM, 8-0, fell to Madrid 42-6 and to I-35, 8-2 in their first three games. A 47-13 loss to Panorama followed, but the Hawks bounced back for a 26-12 Homecoming win over Southwest Valley last week.
Vermaas leads the running game with 504 yards on 132 carries, with Josh Saak rushing 22 times for 93 times and Brant 25 times for 70 yards. Three TDs have been scored by Vermaas and two by Saak.
Brendan Bird is 12-34-2 for 149 yards and one TD through the air. Brant (6-73) has been the main target, with Johnnie Morgan catching three passes for 21 yards and a TD.
Saak has 29.5 tackles to lead the defense, with Austin Scharlau (28), Moragan (26) and Nick Musich (20) rounding out those with at least 20 stops. The defense has yet to make an interception but has recovered 11 fumbles.
