PANORA — The Woodward-Granger cross country squads were in action Thursday on the demanding course at the Panorama West Par 3 Golf Course. The Hawks ran in both boys and girls varsity and middle school (2-mile) races, but in no event did they field the five runners necessary to create an official team time.

Natalie Helbling and Natalie Faultonson ran for the Woodward-Granger girls varsity, finishing in 26 minutes, 28.18 seconds and 35:14.25, respectively. Chandler Cavanaugh (20:57.2), Hunter Pierce (21:52.57), Cody Garland (22:04.06) and Andrew Anderson (27:08.4) navigated the route for the Hawk boys varsity.

Kate Grell was the first of four W-G middle school girls to finish by crossing in 17:51.97. Mackenzie Dresback clocked in at 18:47.66, with Sydney Grell just behind, in 18:47.97, while Kaitlyn Smith finished in 20:18.39.

Trevor Faultonson and Lucas Hansen were the lone runners for the Hawk boys middle schoolers, with the former crossing in 14:28.28 and the latter in 22:13.79.

The W-G cross country teams are off until Sept. 29 when they visit the West Central Valley Invitational.
