WOODWARD — Seniors Ashley Gales and Julie Pitman were recently honored by being named to the Class 2A Central All-District volleyball team.

Meg Jackson also received recognition by being named All-District Coach of the Year after guiding a Hawk team that, despite replacing five starters, finished 25-14 overall and 6-2 in WCAC play. W-G reached the Regional Final before falling to No. 4 St. Albert, knocking off sixth-rated host Tri-Center along the way.

Gales recorded 237 kills and made 48 blocks. She saw limited time in the back row, but managed 11 assists and 15 digs while recording six aces on 11-of-15 serving.

Pitman totaled 213 kills and 56 blocks. She made 37 digs and had 12 assists while serving 212-of-248 with 52 aces.
