Woodward-Granger, Woodward Academy boys on opposite sides of post season bracket

WOODWARD — The boys basketball team from Woodward-Granger will face host Madrid at 8 p.m. Feb. 15 in a Class 2A District 13 first round game. The contest will follow the 6:30 p.m. tussle in Madrid that pits the Woodward Academy against CMB.

The winners of the two games will both head to Des Moines Christian on Feb. 18, where the winner of the W-G vs. Madrid game will face PCM at 6:30 p.m. while the winner of the Academy’s battle with CMB faces host DMC at 8 p.m.

The District 13 Final will be played Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at a site that has yet to be determined. That winner will travel to Waukee for the Substate 7 Final at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 against the District 14 champion for the right to play in the state tournament.
