A Woodward man was arrested on his birthday Thursday after he allegedly hit and kicked a fellow Woodward resident and threatened to kill him.
Scott Robert Hansen, 45, of 311 Main St., Woodward, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began shortly after midnight Thursday when an officer of the Woodward Police Department responded to a disturbance reported outside a residence near E. Fourth Street and Cedar Avenue in Woodward.
According to court records, Hansen was standing in the victim’s driveway and “yelling at him,” and then he allegedly “struck the victim three times in the chest. Once the victim fell to the ground, Hansen kicked the victim in the chest.”
Hansen then allegedly “yelled toward the victim that he should just kill him” while walking away from the victim, according to court records.
The police officer observed “red marking” on the victim’s chest where he was allegedly hit and kicked.
Hansen is held in the Dallas County Jail prior to his initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
Hansen was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault and four counts of first-degree harassment in 2013 in Dallas County District Court and second degree harassment in 2009.
