Woodward man charged with assault in domestic disturbance

A Woodward man faces an assault charge following a Thursday night disturbance at his home.

Jason Leroy White, 47, of 126 S. Main St., #27, Woodward, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

Officers of the Woodward Police Department were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Main Street.

According to court records, the responding officers found the victim “crying” and the alleged assailant “being argumentative” toward the victim.

The officers found “broken picture frames on the coffee table,” and the victim had “a cut on her left index finger and had marks on the front of her neck.”

The victim claimed the alleged assailant “held her down in the bed,” according to court records.

White was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to his release on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference March 27 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
